The Story Begins Here

I am a Cape Bretoner. Born and raised in Ingonish Beach, which is a middle of nowhere Oasis tucked along the shores of the Cabot Trail's craggy coastline. Residents are often cut off from the rest of world because of its isolate nature. This haven for Irish immigrants has retained its innocence and beauty from the impending urban sprawl that has enveloped this country.

Some of us left. Others couldn't wait to leave.

In hindsight I don't know why; we just did. We all wanted to experience the world. See its wonders, and experience its mystery. Instead we found ourselves on the same treadmill, that many do. We work, we live, we sleep, we exist,...

There's more to it. Much more.

The older you get the more you are ask yourself if there is something more profound than just going through the paces. Is it so important to have things only to want more things until you are up to eye balls in things. But alas things just don't seem to create the excitement they once did maybe because we have had enough things. So if we have had enough what's left.

Intangibles!

Turning forty was a big transitional period for me. I had enough of the corporate world, and the collection of stuff. Family has all of a sudden become really important to me, as has my emotional well-being and my career.

I have learned to determine what it is that makes me happy and just do it. One thing I always wanted to do is to learn how to play the piano and the violin. Since a piano won't fit with my decor I have decided to go with the violin.

If it doesn't work out with learning the violin, I can always spray paint it gold and put it above the fireplace.
